Swedish Brown Beans

2 cups pinto beans
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons molasses
3 tablespoons butter
Place beans in heavy pot. Cover with cold water. Add all remaining ingredients except butter. Cover. Cook over low heat until beans are tender, adding a little hot water if necessary. When beans are done, correct seasoning with more salt and pepper, if desired, and stir in butter. Serve with pork, ham, or barbecue
